You Know What Really Grates My Cheese? CAR VACUUM EDITION

For those of you that follow me on instagram, you may have seen that I was a bit perturbed earlier this week. The problem was a car vacuum and cleaning job NOT well done… More specifically, I paid a company to clean and vacuum my car. Driving away I noticed that my car appeared to be neither cleaned, nor vacuumed.
And THIS really grates my cheese. (On a side note, I saw a “Grinds my Gears” Family guy meme pop up the other day and thought that I would like to make this a weekly segment. During which I will discuss a problem that I experienced that week and a product that helped me to solve that problem! Leave a comment below and let me know what you guys think!)
Now in general, I am a TERRIBLE cleaner. I mean really and truly God-Awful at it. I don’t clean bathrooms, kitchens, bedrooms or clothes well. So you can imagine that I certainly DO NOT clean vehicles well.
In fact, my husband asked me to clean his mothers car while we were still dating, since she had so graciously agreed to let me use it at the time. To which I replied, “Can you please help me because I have never washed a car before…”.
He thought this was one of the most ridiculous things he had ever heard… I of course, did not.
I never washed a car when growing up. The reason being that I didn’t get one until I was 17, drove it through the winter, and then moved the California that summer… Also, my step-father does all the car washing in that household. Don’t ask me why, he’s just super nice and that’s the way it has always been.
I definitely didn’t wash my car when I was in California. I paid to have it washed at a car wash… like a normal person who lives only in apartments in cities…
Anyways, long story short, bad at cleaning…REALLY bad at washing cars… and super mad because I paid for a crap car cleaning. Now I understand someones inability to clean a car well. Oh boy do I… but not when it is literally YOUR JOB.
I decided, being a little bit older, a little bit wiser, and a little bit more capable, that it might be time to suck it up and just clean and vacuum my car myself.
“If you want something done right, you’ve got to do it yourself.”
We all the know the saying.
Luckily there is a company that actually makes an affordable and incredibly easy to use car vacuum!!
First of all, it is easy to carry, portable and both a dry and wet vac. Not to mention it has a tire inflator, tired pressure gauge AND an led light to help you see what you are doing. Also, it plugs directly into your car’s 12V lighter socket to power it and has a cord long enough to reach around your entire car! They come in 3 different colors, gold, black and blue. I chose black because it’s really black and silver and matches my car haha!
The price for the vacuum itself is $34.90 from Amazon.
This is a steal. Especially considering each time I get my car “cleaned and vacuumed” I have been paying $20.
Honestly, one of the coolest things about it, for me, is that it has the tire inflator with 3 different valves. They fit all different kinds of tired, as well as basketballs, soccer balls, rafts etc… As Reef gets older I can only assume that will be incredibly helpful and time-saving.
Finally, the size is awesome. It is small enough that I can store everything right in the car and have it waiting for whenever I need it.
Bottom line, it made my life easier and will save me money in the long run. Two thumbs way up from this girl.
Purchasing one is simple with awesome customer service and quick shipping. (Amazon, always a blessing.)

Do you guys have any other awesome cleaning products that have made your life a little bit easier? If so I’d love to hear about them in the comments below!
And now you get to see me actually cleaning something! (As I mentioned, cleaning is in my bottom 2 life skills so it’s a rare sight lol)
